Kolkata, 13 June (H.S.): Even senior MLAs of the West Bengal Assembly cannot remember when they last saw such tight security. On Friday morning, tight security checks have been noticed at every gate of West Bengal assembly. Be it the ruling party or the opposition, everyone's vehicles were being stopped at the gate and searched. From the bonnet of the car to the trunk, to the bags kept inside the trunk, everything was being searched.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicles of MLAs, ministers and all others were searched in the same way as a search operation is carried out when a threatening call is received. In the words of MLA Soumik Hussain, I have never seen such a search operation at the gate of the assembly before.

The reason for this search is not clear. According to sources, this search operation is being carried out on the orders of Speaker Biman Banerjee. Many believe that since the teachers who have lost their jobs are protesting. They are on a hunger strike since Thursday over five-point demands. This is the reason why there may be such tight security in the assembly.

According to sources, a delegation of unemployed teachers wanted to meet the speaker on Friday afternoon.Therefore, many believe that this security is tight.

Some BJP MLAs commented on the tight security inside the assembly, saying, Maybe this is a measure so that we cannot enter the assembly with Tulsi trees.

However, the exact reason for this tight security check was not clear till the time of filing of the news.
