Jammu, 13 June (H.S.): 7th Annual Sudhmahadev Chhari Yatra was organized by Sudhmahadev Chhari Yatra Samiti from ancient Panjbakthar Temple Jammu to ancient temple of Shul Paneshwar Ji Maharaj Sudhmahadev in District Udhampur.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Commisioner Jammu Municipal Corporations Dr Devansh Yadav, SHO City Nadia Farooq, PSI Aqib Latif along with Ex Corporator Ritu Choudhary flagged off the Yatra.

1008 Shri Damodar Dass Ji Maharaj from Vrindavan took the Chhari to Sudhmahadev. Talking to media, Maharaj said that this place has its reference in various religious books such as Shiv Puran also. Lord Shiva solemnized his marriage with Maa Gaura and had Fera at Mantalai.

Special Pooja was performed at holy temple of Bhagwan Shul Paneshwar Ji Maharaj amidst chanting of Vedic mantras to invoke the blessings of lord Shiva.

Enroute, Chhari was welcomed by Shiv devotees led by Ex MLA Th Balwan Singh at ancient Shiv temple Dhok Waziran Nagrota along with SDPO Nagrota Vinod Kundal, Naib Tehsidar Jai Singh and others. Pujan of Chhari was performed at Devika Ghat Udhampur, where Yuva Brahman Mandal led by Bharti Sharma welcomed the Chhari Mubarak. At Chenani town in ancient Mukteshwar temple, the pious Chhari was received by SDM Chenani Ranjeet Kotwal, Tehsildar Chenani and prominent citizens. Vedpathies from Gurukul Panjbakthar Temple chanted Vedic mantras and the live performance by artists on stage in nain Bus stand Chenani enthralled the general public.

At Gaurikund, the local committee of Gaurikund Temple received the Chhari Mubarak with religious fervor. After that Pooja was performed in the cave and devotees took a dip in the Gaurikund. At Sudhmahadev, Mela Officer Kuldeep Raj Sharma garlanded the Chhari and Trishul of Mata Gouran. Pooja was performed in Shool Paneshwar temple in presence of hundreds of Shiv bhakts. After having langar in Durgesh Nandani, the pious Chhari came back Jammu in midnight. Administration made all requisite arrangements for facilitating safe and hastle free Yatra.
