New Delhi, June 13 (HS): On Friday, the National Women's Commission and Uttarakhand's Setu Commission signed a memorandum to implement Women Empowerment for a Developed and Empowered Uttarakhand. The agreement, signed by Vijaya Rahatkar and Raj Shekhar Joshi, aims to enhance women's education, health, safety, economic participation, and legal awareness. Proposed initiatives include establishing integrated rural smart village centers, pre-marriage dialogue centers, safety training in higher education, and creating safer, more inclusive workplaces. The National Women's Commission will provide technical assistance, develop tailored training materials, and share national best practices. It aims to connect state initiatives with central government schemes and organize capacity-building workshops. The Setu Commission will offer strategic frameworks, coordinate resources, monitor activities, and ensure alignment with state priorities. Each party will appoint a nodal officer, and quarterly program reviews will occur via a joint operational committee.
