Bhadohi, 13 June (HS): Authorities
in Uttar Pradesh's Bhaodhi district shut an unlawful nursing home and clinic
run by a lady without a recognized medical certification, authorities said on
Friday. A case has been filed against the suspected practitioner, Sarojini
Jaiswal, who failed to provide a valid medical degree or health department
registration during the inspection, they added. According to Chief Medical
Officer (CMO) Santosh Kumar Chak, after receiving a complaint, Dr. Ashutosh
Kumar Pandey, Superintendent of the Community Health Centre, examined the
facility at Doctor Colony in the Gopiganj region. Chak added that the complaint
claimed that certain touts were sending pregnant women from the government
hospital to Sarojini Jaiswal's nursing home, which is just opposite the Community
Health Centre, for births.
The role of government workers in
the scheme is also being scrutinized, and anyone found guilty would face heavy
penalties, he stressed. Gopaiganj Station House Officer Amit Kumar Singh stated
that the medical institution was shut following an inspection, and a case was
filed against Jaiswal based on Superintendent Pandey's allegation. The officer
stated that further inquiry is underway.
