Delhi, 12 June (H.S.): The 137th meeting of the Offshore Security Coordination Committee (OSCC), chaired by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on thursday in New Delhi, focused on reviewing India’s offshore installations' security preparedness and effectiveness. It emphasized enhancing joint response mechanisms to protect critical energy infrastructure. Director General ICG Paramesh Sivamani highlighted the significance of energy security and urged all measures to secure offshore assets for national growth and independence. The meeting included representatives from multiple organizations like the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, various ministries, and State Police forces from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1978, the OSCC has effectively framed policies and provided guidance on offshore defence issues.
