Pune, 11 June (HS): Maharashtra’s Transport Minister and Chairman of
MSRTC, Pratap Sarnaik expressed confidence that the state transport will have smart
e-buses with an integrated security system based on artificial intelligence.
While addressing media persons in Pune, Sarnaik said, around 5,000
e-buses will be procured in the near future. MSRTC plans to buy 1,000 e-buses
every year. The manufacturers of e-buses have been instructed to install AI
AI-based integrated safety system. The company has made similar buses for Uttar Pradesh.
The AI technology will keep an eye on the driver’s movements and sound an alarm for passengers if the driver is sleeping or making any other dangerous movements.
The CCTV on the buses will also be helpful in ensuring the safety of female passengers,
fires and other incidents. The buses
will also have other systems to ensure safe travel for passengers.
