Lucknow, 11 June (HS): The Yogi

government of Uttar Pradesh is continuously making meaningful efforts towards

innovation and inclusion in the field of education. In this sequence, 'Sugamya

Worksheets' are being developed and distributed with the help of UNICEF for

about 2.96 lakh students with special needs (Divyang) of the state. These

worksheets will not only strengthen their basic educational skills, but will

also inspire them to move forward with confidence and self-respect. This

sensitive and strategic initiative of the Yogi government is making education

not just a right but a medium of experience and self-confidence. Now the state

government is considering disability not as an obstacle but as a specialty and

is taking strong steps towards bringing them into the mainstream through proper

resources and support.

Basic Education Minister Sandeep

Singh says that the priority of the Yogi government is that no child should be

left behind, no matter what his social, economic or physical condition is.

Through 'Sugamya Worksheets' we are ensuring that Divyang children also get

equal rights at every level of education. This is not just an educational

innovation, but our resolve towards building an inclusive and sensitive

society.

Concrete steps towards inclusion in

education: These worksheets are focused on Hindi and Maths subjects for

students of class 1 to 8. A total of 1300 worksheets have been prepared for

class 1 to 5 and 600 worksheets for class 6 to 8. In this way, a total of 1900

worksheets have been prepared for them. These worksheets have been designed in

such a way for all categories of disabled children except for completely

visually impaired students that they are colorful, attractive and in simple

language, so that they can learn interestingly and easily.

Detailed plan for classroom use:

Printing of worksheets has been completed and their supply has been ensured in

all districts. Now they are being distributed at the block and school level. As

per the guidelines, these worksheets will be distributed in a set in a phased

manner. The next set will be given only after practice and teacher evaluation

of the first set.

Training and strategies for

teachers: Teachers are instructed to get children to work on the worksheets

through individual, pair and group activities. It is mandatory to clarify the

context through a dialogue or activity with students before each set and after

the assessment, students are allowed to take the worksheets home so that they

can practice again.

Guidance and monitoring of special

educators is also ensured: Special educators have to visit schools and not only

ensure the availability of worksheets, but also understand the difficulties

faced by children and provide solutions. Not only this, their monthly reports

will be reviewed by the district coordinator and feedback and guidance will

also be provided accordingly.
