Prime Accused Aryan Khan Arrested in Sodepur Porn Racket Case; Mother Shweta Khan Still Absconding

Kolkata, 11 June (H.S.): In a major breakthrough in the Sodepur porn racket and abduction case, the prime accused Aryan Khan was arrested by Howrah City Police on Wednesday from the Golf Green area of Kolkata. His mother, Shweta Khan alias 'Phultusi'—the alleged kingpin of the operation—remains absconding.

According to police sources, the case came to light last Saturday when a young woman from Sodepur filed a complaint alleging that she had been lured under the pretext of employment, then held captive and subjected to physical and mental abuse. Acting swiftly, the police launched a manhunt for Shweta Khan and her son Aryan based on the victim’s statement.

After nearly four days of intensive search operations, Aryan Khan was tracked down and arrested in Kolkata. His sister, Zoya Khan, was also detained from Baruipur in connection with the case. Police have also taken Shweta Khan’s mother into custody for questioning, though Shweta herself continues to evade arrest.

Authorities revealed that the victim managed to escape from captivity and was later admitted to a hospital in a critical condition. She was initially being treated in the surgical ward of Sagar Dutta Medical College but has since been moved to the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) due to a deterioration in her condition. Her family remains hopeful about her recovery.

Investigators believe Aryan’s arrest could help uncover Shweta Khan’s current location and expose the full extent of the trafficking and exploitation network. The police have registered a case under multiple sections related to abduction, unlawful confinement, and human trafficking. Further interrogations are underway.
