Bhubaneswar, 11 June (H.S.)In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Odisha Crime Branch's Special Task Force (STF) seized 319 grams of brown sugar valued at ₹31 lakh during a raid near the Kuakhai riverbank on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. One individual has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the STF team apprehended the accused, a Bhubaneswar resident, and recovered the contraband from his possession. In addition, the police seized a motorcycle reportedly used in the drug peddling operation.

The accused has been forwarded to the court of the Khurda District Judge. According to officials, he has a prior criminal record and was previously involved in two drug-related cases registered at Badagada and Balianta police stations.
