Guwahati, 11 June (HS): Within 24 hours of the kidnapping and robbery of a vegetable vendor in Bharalumukh police station area of Guwahati, the police have solved the case and arrested four accused.

The case has been registered under Bharalumukh Police Station Case No. 96/2025 Section 310 (2) / 140 (2) BNS. Complainant Munindra Das (resident of Kahilipada, Shanti Nagar) said that on June 10, at around 4:40 am, when he was going to Machkhowa vegetable market, five people in a Baleno car forcibly made him sit in the car on BR Phukan Road and left him on AT Road near Kamakhya Gate after robbing ₹1500 cash.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sirajul Islam (21, Milan Nagar, Thana Hatigaon), Babul Ali alias Jonab (32, Garikhali Majdia, Thana Sarthebari, District Barpeta), Zakir Ali (37, Daulatol, Thana Hajo, District Kamrup Rural) and Saheb Ali alias Sahajan (31, Barni, Thana Pake Hajo, District Kamrup Rural).

Police have recovered the Maruti Suzuki Baleno car (AS-01-GE-3543) used in kidnapping and robbery from the accused.

Bharalumukh Police Station Incharge and his team solved the case within 24 hours through technical investigation and prompt action.

Accused Saheb Ali alias Sahajan has also been arrested earlier in Satgaon Police Station Case No. 12/25, Section 309(2) BNS. Police is engaged in further investigation. ---------------
