Amethi, 11 June (HS): An elderly
man died and his wife was badly injured after an inverter battery detonated
inside their residence on Wednesday morning, according to authorities. The
event occurred in Mardauli village, which is part of the Sangrampur police
station. According to authorities, Naurang Bahadur Singh, 62, was killed on the
scene by an explosion. His wife, Anusuya
Singh, 60, suffered serious injuries and was originally brought to the Amethi
Community Health Centre. Because of the severity of her illness, physicians
referred her to Gauriganj's district hospital. Udaybhan Singh, the victim's
younger brother, stated that the explosion occurred inside the house where the
inverter was placed. My eldest brother was killed instantaneously in the
explosion, and my sister-in-law is critically injured and receiving treatment,
he informed local officials.
Dr Saurabh Singh, a senior doctor
at Amethi CHC, stated Anusuya Singh had many serious wounds. Given the gravity
of her injuries, she was sent to the district hospital for further treatment,
he stated. Brijesh Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sangrampur police
station, stated that the corpse has been submitted for autopsy, and an inquiry
is underway to ascertain the cause of the explosion.
