Dhubri (Assam), 11 June (HS): IGP Akhilesh Kumar Singh visited Dhubri temple on Wednesday to review the incidents of beef recovery and the situation that arose after that. He met the local police officials and took stock of the situation.
IGP Singh informed that two cases have been registered regarding the suspicious incident in the temple premises and so far seven persons have been detained.
On the other hand, the tense situation in Dhubri for the last three days is now slowly becoming normal. In view of the improvement in the situation, Section 163 (1) of the Indian Penal Code implemented in the city has been removed.
