Amravati, 11 June (HS): Former minister and Founder President of
social organisation ‘Prahar’ Bachchu Kadu has lost two kilogrammes of weight on the
fourth day of his indefinite hunger strike. His blood pressure has lowered, and his blood sugar level has increased. Kadu launched the hunger strike at Gurukunj Mozari
on June 8 for the rights of the farmers. On the doctor’s advice, he agreed to
consume medicines, but refused to take any food. Amravati District Collector
Ashish Yerekar convinced him to take medicines.
Kadu has demanded the waiver of farmers' loans, Rs 6,000 per month for persons with disabilities, and 17 other demands. He launched a hunger strike, alleging that the government continuously ignored his demands.
Meanwhile, the sources stated that Sharad Pawar, the Founder of the Nationalist Congress Party, telephonically talked to Kadu and inquired about his health. MLA Rohit Pawar reached Mozari to meet Kadu.
