Nagpur, 10 June (HS):
The Vidarbha region continues to sizzle under intense heat as several districts
recorded temperatures above 40°C on Tuesday. Nagpur and Brahmpuri in Chandrapur
district were the hottest places, both recording a maximum temperature of 43.6°C.
Amravati (42.4°C),
Akola and Wardha (42.0°C), and Bhandara (42.6°C) also remained firmly in the
grip of heatwave conditions. Yavatmal was not far behind, logging 41.4°C, while Gondia recorded 40.8°C.
Relatively lower, but still high, temperatures
were recorded in Chandrapur (37.8°C), Gadchiroli (37.0°C), Washim (38.0°C), and
Buldana, which offered the only major relief at 36.6°C.
Buldana is considered to be the coldest district in the region. .
With no major
relief expected soon, authorities are urging citizens to take necessary
precautions.
