31 May (HS): A married woman died under suspicious circumstances in Chandpur
police station area of Bijnor district. The deceased's father Sukhe Khan has
accused her in-laws of dowry murder. Sukhe Khan, the father of the deceased,
told the police in his complaint that he had married his daughter Shama to
Nadeem, son of Sarfaraz, a resident of Basta, on 21 February 2021. All the
items were given as dowry according to their capacity in the marriage. It is
alleged that since the marriage, husband Nadeem, his sister Rubina,
brother-in-law Salman and father-in-law Sarfaraz, mother-in-law Kherulnisha
used to harass his daughter demanding dowry. On the morning of 29 May, the younger
sister of the deceased called and told that her sister's condition was bad.
When the family reached the in-laws' house, the condition of the deceased was
critical. She was first admitted to the CHC located in village Syau. The
doctors referred her to Meerut. The father of the deceased said that her
mother-in-law and sister-in-law held her hands and feet and her father-in-law
poisoned her. The woman died in a hospital in Meerut. On the complaint of the
deceased's father, the police have registered a case against the husband
Nadeem, his sister Rubina, brother-in-law Salman, father-in-law Sarfaraz and
mother-in-law Kherulnisha and have started investigation. After the
post-mortem, the body reached home where the family members are in a bad state.
The deceased will be buried after the namaz. CO Desh Deepak Singh told them
that action is being taken by registering a report.
