Murshidabad, 2 June (H.S.):

A student died in a bike accident on the national highway in Beldanga, Murshidabad on Monday. He was going to school on a bike with his friend. At the same time, the bike collided with a lorry in the Barua Chauraha area. The student died on the spot. The student's friend was injured in the accident. The police said that the name of the deceased is Fahim Sheikh (10). His house is in Barua Baganpada area of Beldanga police station.

Eyewitness Khairul Haq said that the bike went out of control and fell on the road. The youth fell off the bike and was crushed by the wheels of the truck. The fatal truck was going from Krishnanagar to Baharampur. Local resident Jisanul Haq said that the traffic is not moving properly on this road. If the traffic was normal, such an incident would not have happened. On the other hand, Trinamool MLA from Rejinagar Rabiul Alam Chowdhury reached the spot after getting the news. He said that this is a very sad incident. The student died untimely. We are very sad about this incident. We are with the student's family. I would request the administration to take immediate action on the situation at Barua crossing. We need to be more vigilant on the national highway. Tomorrow, i.e. on Tuesday, the last market will be held here before Eid and a huge crowd will gather there. On the other hand, the work on the flyover will also begin. Many people are returning to their villages on the occasion of Eid. Traffic congestion on the road may increase comparatively. As a result, motorcyclists will have to be more careful. Toto drivers should also follow the law while driving on the road.
