Bahraich BJP's minority front chief presents chaddar at Salar Ghazi's dargah

Bahraich,

31 May (HS): Despite the district administration's prohibition on the fair

conducted at Syed Salar Masood Ghazi's tomb in Bahraich, Jamal Siddiqui, president

of the BJP Minority Front, presented a 'chaddar' at the dargah on the occasion

of Urs and stated that he considers Ghazi a saint. On May 3, the Bahraich

district authorities rejected permission for the annual 'Jeth Mela', which is

held in the dargah. In an official

statement, the administration noted popular resentment over instances such as

the Pahalgam attack and Sambhal unrest, as well as worries about the modified

Waqf Act. The Jeth Mela, which was planned to take place from May 15 to June

15, was expected to attract lakhs of people from India and overseas.

In

response to reporters' questions, Siddiqui stated that while the fair may be

banned, Urs is not. People are coming on pilgrimage. Syed Sahab's status is quite high. Lakhs of people come here to pay their

respects and have benefitted from him.

I've also come here to pray with my father, he explained.

The

fair's closure occurred in response to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath's statements condemning the celebration of invaders. During a visit to Bahraich on March 20 this

year, the Chief Minister hailed Maharaja Suheldev's valor in defeating Salar

Ghazi, saying that glorifying the invader means strengthening the basis of

treachery.

When

asked about Adityanath's comments, Siddiqui informed reporters, Yogi ji

is the chief minister of our state. I'm

not sure what context he stated this in. Yogi ji's faith, wisdom, and facts

have their place, but I trust Ghazi Baba.”

He

stated, When I was six months old, I was brought here. I've been coming

here since then. Today, I came here

because of my faith, and we have the right to practice our beliefs.” On the

topic of Ghazi being termed an invader, Siddiqui stated that Ghazi Baba was

born in Ajmer in 1014 and died in 1034.

It is no longer feasible to find stories from a thousand years ago.

Hindus,

Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians all gather here.

The process of unifying the country is complete, according to Siddiqui. On

May 17, the Allahabad High Court denied to give permission for the annual fair

at the dargah. However, in its judgment,

the court's Lucknow bench permitted rituals and other normal operations at the

dargah.

Despite

the fact that it was a holiday, the Chief Justice formed a special bench

consisting of Justices AR Masoodi and Subhash Vidyarthi, who gave the ruling

after hearing petitions filed by Waqf number 19, Dargah Sharif, and two

additional Public Interest Litigations.
