Prayagraj,
31 May (HS): Chief Justice of India
(CJI) B R Gavai stated that whenever the country faced a crisis, it stayed
unified and powerful, and the Constitution should be praised for this. At Allahabad
High Court, the Chief Justice of India addresses an event following the
inauguration of advocate chambers and multilevel parking.
When
the Constitution was being drafted and the final text was delivered to the
Constituent Assembly, some individuals said it was too federal, while others
said it was too Unitarian.
Baba
Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar said that the Constitution is neither totally federal
nor entirely unitary. But one thing I can assure you is that we have enacted a
Constitution that will keep India unified and powerful in both peace and
conflict, CJI Gavai stated.
He
stated that the Constitution has guided India's progress since independence. Today
we observe the state of our bordering nations. After gaining independence,
India is embarking on a road of growth. Whenever the country faced a crisis, it
stayed together and powerful. He
believes that the Constitution deserves credit for this. It is our basic
responsibility to go out to the last individual in this country who requires
justice. The CJI informed the audience that everyone, whether in the
legislative, government, or judiciary, must reach out to that individual.
