Assam Police provided help to 20 girls trapped in girls hostel amid water


Guwahati, 31 May (HS): Due to torrential rains for the last three-four days, the situation in the capital Guwahati has become very frightening. Due to heavy rains, waterlogging is being seen in most parts of Guwahati. In some areas, rubber boats also had to be used to provide relief.

On Saturday, 20 girls are staying in the girls hostel running in house number 10 at Kanchan Path, Bora Service, Ulubari in the capital. Girls hostel head Jyoti Kamal shared a post on social media X and said that 20 girls are trapped in the hostel without water and food. Please help them.

He tagged the Chief Minister, Minister, DGP of Assam Police and NDRF in the post. As soon as the post went viral, a team of the traffic branch of Assam Police reached the hostel surrounded by flood water on Saturday morning and provided water and food items.

Such a situation is also being seen in many other areas of the capital. People are facing a lot of problems due to water entering their houses up to five feet. Last night also, NDRF personnel were seen providing relief to people in Rukminigaon and Anil Nagar and SDRF and Assam Police personnel were seen providing relief to people in other areas.
