
Delhi, 30 May (H.S.): The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in the region today in Kanpur. Key highlights include the inauguration of the Chunniganj Metro Station to Kanpur Central Metro Station section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project, featuring 14 stations with five new underground stations, at a cost of over Rs 2,120 crore. Additionally, road widening and strengthening work on G.T. Road will be inaugurated.
To meet growing energy demands, a new 220 kV substation in Sector 28 at YEIDA, Gautam Buddh Nagar, will be established, with two additional 132 kV substations at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida. The Prime Minister will inaugurate a 660 MW Panki Thermal Power Extension Project in Kanpur and three 660 MW units of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project, expanding Uttar Pradesh's energy capacity.
Rail over bridges at Panki Power House and Panki Dham will facilitate coal and oil transport for the Thermal Power Extension Project. The inauguration of a 40 MLD Tertiary Treatment Plant at Bingawan will promote sustainable water resource management. The foundation stone for road improvements, including Gauria Pali Marg and connections to Kanpur Defence Node, will significantly enhance logistics. The Prime Minister will also distribute certificates and cheques to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
