Patna, May 30 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Bikramganj, Rohtas district, marking the second day of his visit to Bihar. He arrived in an open jeep, accompanied by Nitish Kumar and Samrat Chaudhary, receiving a warm welcome with a shawl of Madhubani painting. Key figures present include Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and various BJP and NDA leaders. This meeting is significant as it follows the successful Operation Sindoor by the Indian Army.
Amidst a large crowd, Modi is set to deliver an impactful speech while laying the foundation stone for the NTPC power plant in Aurangabad, a project valued at ₹29,948 crores and poised to be Bihar's first ultra-modern power station utilizing ultra-supercritical technology. With a pavilion accommodating four lakh people, BJP leaders anticipate a turnout of five lakh. The rally focuses on targeting the 22 assembly seats in the Shahabad region, which includes Kaimur, Rohtas, Bhojpur, and Buxar—areas where the NDA previously faced significant electoral defeats. Development promises from Modi include the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi four-lane road, a four-lane elevated road in Gopalganj, enhanced railway lines, and key infrastructure such as the Ganga bridge on NH-922 and improvements to NH-119A and NH-319B connecting major regions.
