Delhi, 30 May (H.S.): The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated various development projects in Karakat, Bihar, worth over Rs 48,520 crore. He thanked the gathering for their support and affection towards the region, emphasizing Bihar's cultural significance linked to Lord Ram and the commitment to fulfilling promises—a guiding policy of New India. Addressing the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, PM Modi promised justice for the victims and highlighted the effectiveness of India's armed forces against terror threats from Pakistan, stating that military actions have neutralized Pakistan's defenses.

PM Modi acknowledged Bihar's proud history and honored Veer Kunwar Singh's legacy while recognizing the contributions of young men from Bihar in the Indian Armed Forces and the Border Security Force (BSF). He praised the courage shown by the BSF during Operation Sindoor and paid tribute to martyred Sub-Inspector Shri Imtiaz, underscoring Bihar’s commitment to national service.

He reiterated India's resolve to combat both external and internal threats, noting Bihar's progress from violence and Naxalism. PM Modi reflected on the past when fear due to armed militants prevailed and the lack of government scheme reach in villages with inadequate facilities. He acknowledged the development efforts by Nitish Kumar since 2014, which have yielded significant results, including law enforcement actions bring Maoists to justice, resulting in a reduction of Naxalism from over 125 affected districts to just 18.

PM Modi expressed confidence in eradicating Maoist violence for lasting peace and progress in rural areas while highlighting infrastructure developments in Bihar. He noted the end of 'Jungle Raj', improved transport networks, the operationalization of Darbhanga Airport, the inauguration of Patna Airport's new terminal to boost capacity, and announced a ₹1,400 crore investment in Bihta Airport, emphasizing the government's focus on infrastructure and employment opportunities in the region.

PM Modi highlighted the significant advancement of four-lane and six-lane roads in Bihar, noting rapid progress in infrastructure projects linking key towns such as Patna, Buxar, Gaya, Dobhi, and Bodh Gaya. He emphasized the Patna–Ara–Sasaram Greenfield Corridor and new bridges over major rivers like the Ganga, which aid job creation, tourism, and trade. PM Modi also addressed improvements in Bihar's railway infrastructure, including the introduction of Vande Bharat trains and multi-tracking rail lines between Son Nagar and Andal, enhancing connectivity.

He criticized past administrations for misusing recruitment processes, thereby depriving locals of opportunities, and urged vigilance against past deceit. PM Modi underscored the importance of reliable electricity for industrial growth, announcing an NTPC project in Nabinagar that will provide 1,500 megawatts and new thermal plants. He promoted a transition to green energy with a new solar park and support for farmers through the PM-KUSUM scheme to boost agricultural productivity.

Modern infrastructure benefits villages and small industries by connecting them to larger markets, fostering local employment, and reducing labor migration, ultimately fueling Bihar's economic growth. He stressed government initiatives aimed at uplifting the farming community by improving productivity and ensuring fair prices. The introduction of the Makhana Board aims to enhance Makhana production techniques and marketing. Granting Makhana a Geographical Indication (GI) tag is intended to protect its unique qualities and promote exports.

The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which provides direct financial aid to over 75 lakh farmers, is key to increasing income levels, helping farmers manage expenses and invest in better practices and equipment. Collectively, these initiatives illustrate the government's commitment to transforming agriculture in Bihar, improving farmers' livelihoods, fostering sustainable growth, and enhancing the socio-economic status of farming communities, ultimately increasing Bihar's contributions to the economy.
