New Delhi, May 30(HS): In a message to Muslims in India for Eid-ul-Azha, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani emphasized that sacrifice is a religious duty for every capable Muslim. He stressed the importance of fulfilling this obligation while adhering to government guidelines and urged avoiding the sacrifice of banned animals. Sacrificing a black animal is suggested as an alternative to avoid conflict.
If there are obstacles to performing the sacrifice, Maulana Madani advised collaborating with wise individuals and local authorities. If necessary, sacrifices should be conducted in nearby areas without issues. He insisted that at least a goat should be sacrificed where it has traditionally occurred and that records should be kept to prevent future problems. The Jamiat president called for special attention to cleanliness during Eid-ul-Azha, urging that animal remains be properly buried to avoid inconvenience. He encouraged patience and restraint in the face of provocative actions from communal factions and recommended filing complaints with local police if needed. Muslims were also urged to maintain a positive outlook, trust in Allah, and promote peace. Lastly, he advised against sharing pictures of sacrificial animals on social media to maintain dignity.
