Jammu-Kashmir/New Delhi, May 30 (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting Poonch today as part of his two-day trip to Jammu and Kashmir. He will arrive in Poonch around 11 AM and intends to visit the Singh Sabha Gurudwara, which has been impacted by Pakistani shelling, as well as meet the victims at the Dak Bungalow. There is also the possibility that he will deliver appointment letters to the bereaved families. Following this, he will engage with troops at the BSF's Tactical Headquarters to boost their morale.

Shah previously arrived in Jammu on Thursday evening under strict security measures, greeted by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other officials at the technical airport before heading to Raj Bhawan for a unified headquarters meeting. During this meeting, he reviewed the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, covering the Amarnath Yatra, anti-terrorism operations, and post-conflict safety measures. Key decisions include reinforcing security along the Yatra route, enhancing agency coordination, and preventing infiltration attempts from across the border.
