Bhopal, 29 May (H.S.) In the online lottery organized under the Right to Education Act (Shiksha Ka Adhikar)on Thursday at the State Education Center in Bhopal, 83 thousand 483 children have got free admission in private schools of their choice. Out of these, 72 thousand 812 children are those who have got admission in the first preference schools selected by them.
State Education Center Director Harjinder Singh clicked the online lottery button for free admission of children of deprived group and weaker section in the first admitted class of private schools under RTE. This process was broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the State Education Center.
State Education Center Director Harjinder Singh said that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state to adopt online lottery system under RTE across the country. With this transparent system, parents will get information about the schools in their area and the seats available in them, and their children will be allotted seats in the school through online process. The Director State Education Center congratulated the children selected in the lottery for being allotted the school of their choice and wished them a bright future. The Director also praised the School Education Department and Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) team for creating a transparent online system.
The Director State Education Center said that a transparent and technology-based system has been adopted for admission in private schools under RTE. This year, after document verification for the lottery under RTE, one lakh 66 thousand 751 children were eligible. Out of which 83 thousand 483 children have been allotted schools selected by them. Out of these, 43 thousand 363 are boys and 40 thousand 120 are girls. Those who are included in this online lottery today have been allotted schools through random method.
The children who are being allotted schools are also being informed through SMS on their registered mobile number. Children will be able to take admission in their allotted schools from 2 to 10 June 2025. The fees of these children will be transferred online directly to the school account by the state government as per the rules. In the online lottery, seats have been allotted for free admission to 54 thousand 038 children in nursery class, 22 thousand 799 in KG-1 and 6 thousand 646 children in class 1 in various private schools.
He informed that in the online lottery, 72 thousand 812 children have been allotted their first choice schools, 5 thousand 646 their second choice schools, 2 thousand 665 their third choice schools, 924 their fourth choice schools, 555 their fifth choice schools, 298 their sixth choice schools, 235 their seventh choice schools, 157 their eighth choice schools, 90 their ninth choice schools and 101 their tenth choice schools.
During the YouTube live session, State Education Center Director Harjinder Singh, while giving information about different categories of children eligible for free admission in private schools, said that the highest number of applications of more than one lakh 12 thousand children from families below the poverty line of different categories have been eligible for the lottery process.
