Alipurduar (West Bengal)/New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong critique of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government during a public meeting in Alipurduar, West Bengal. He asserted that the citizens of Bengal have lost faith in the state administration, turning instead to the judiciary for justice. Modi characterized the state as being engulfed in violence, corruption, and unemployment, emphasizing that residents desire an end to oppressive governance.

Addressing concerns about national security, he issued a stern warning to Pakistan, declaring that India's military capabilities have evolved significantly. Modi accused Pakistan of being adept only in terrorism and referred to historical atrocities committed during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He blamed the TMC government for recent violent incidents in Murshidabad and Malda, describing these events as indicative of the government's oppressive nature. He expressed concern for the safety of women and the disillusionment of youth, while criticizing the exploitation of the poor for political gain.

The Prime Minister underscored West Bengal's crucial role in India's development, urging the state to become a hub for initiatives like 'Make in India'. He pointed out substantial investments being made for eastern India’s development under the 'Purvoday' policy, highlighting projects like Kalyani AIIMS and the redevelopment of the New Alipurduar Railway Station as proof of this commitment. Modi accused the state government of obstructing the implementation of central welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat and the PM Janman initiative aimed at enhancing health and education for tribal communities. He noted that the TMC has neglected the welfare of tribal populations and expressed disappointment over pending applications for training and resources for artisans. Additionally, he raised concerns about the integrity of the state's education system, particularly related to a teacher recruitment scam affecting many families.
