New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): The Government of India has made a significant change to its visa system for Afghan citizens. The new visa module for Afghan citizens has been implemented as of April 29. Under this, Afghan citizens can now apply in six new visa categories.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal provided this information during a weekly press conference on Thursday. The spokesperson mentioned that the previous e-emergency X-misc visa facility has now been formally discontinued. The new visa system includes medical visa, medical attendant visa, business visa, entry visa, student visa, and United Nations diplomatic visa.
It is important to note that relations between the two countries appear to be coming back on track following the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan. The Taliban condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dr. Jaishankar also spoke about this with his Afghan counterpart.
