New Delhi, May 29 (HS): The Congress party has labeled the Bharatiya Janata Party's door-to-door campaign to distribute vermilion as 'cheap' politics. The party stated that if large posters did not suffice, then the BJP is now resorting to the politics of distributing vermilion door-to-door.

Speaking at a press conference at Congress headquarters, party leader Ragini Nayak said that the misuse of vermilion is cheap politics. It is a matter of great shame that in order to cover up its political and diplomatic failures, the Modi government wants to use demand for vermilion as a shield. She asserted that vermilion represents the pride and honor of women's power in India.

Notably, regarding the success of Operation Vermilion, the central government plans to distribute vermilion to women as a gift. This initiative will begin on June 9, the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take oath for the third time. The aim is to showcase the achievements of the Modi government in every household.
