I want to tell the scientists that you are going to serve the farmers. It is your good fortune that you are getting a chance to go to the village and talk to the farmers and increase their crop production, there can be no greater virtue than this.

From today, all the scientists are coming to your village from the lab. I want to appeal to the farmers of the whole country that scientists are coming to your village. You take out some time and sit with them, learn new experiments in farming and increase production. Along with this, Shivraj Singh Chauhan also said that just yesterday, under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has taken an important decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 14 Kharif crops. 'Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan' means that the scientists should come out of the lab and go among the farmers in the field, sit with you in the village.

I congratulate the scientists of ICAR who are constantly experimenting in the lab and developing new seeds. India will not just feed its people, we have to become the food basket of the world. If we have to increase production, then the most important thing is good seeds. Talking about production, this year the country has produced 3539.59 lakh metric tons of food grains, which is 216.61 lakh metric tons more than last year, but we should not stop and keep producing. Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy and the farmer is its soul. When a farmer sows seeds in the field, he does not just sow seeds, he sows life.
