Guwahati, 28 May (HS): Advocate Shamima Jahan took oath of office and secrecy as Additional Judge of Gauhati High Court on Wednesday. Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice Vijay Vishnoi administered the oath to her at a formal ceremony held at the High Court premises.

This appointment of Advocate Shamima Jahan has been done under the notification issued by the Central Government on May 26, 2025, in which seven advocates were appointed as judges in various High Courts across the country. The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the name of Shamima Jahan in the year 2024.

Many dignitaries, judges, senior advocates and members of the bar were present on the occasion. Everyone congratulated Justice Shamima Jahan and welcomed her appointment.---------------
