Delhi, 28 May (H.S.): Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met US Under Secretary Jeffrey Kessler on Tuesday to enhance India-US cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. Their discussions focused on convening India-US strategic trade dialogues to strengthen ties in technology and trade.

Sharing a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Washington wrote, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Under Secretary Jeffrey Kessler to advance India-US cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. They also discussed early convening of the India-US Strategic Trade Dialogue to deepen tech and trade collaboration.

Vikram Misri is in the US from May 27-29 to meet with top officials, following Prime Minister Modi’s February visit, where they launched the COMPACT initiative to foster military partnership and trade. Amidst global uncertainties due to Trump’s tariffs, which are currently on hold, India aims to finalize trade agreements with the US by July, as the finance ministry highlights potential economic opportunities from such pacts.
