New Delhi, May 28 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remembered the freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth . The BJP wrote on X this morning, On the birth anniversary of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a courageous son of Mother Bharat, a fervent nationalist leader, an eloquent speaker, and a dedicated social reformer, we offer our heartfelt salutations.

Veer Savarkar was the first patriot who, by putting up large posters in Trimbakeshwar, told the celebrants of Edward VII's coronation ceremony not to celebrate the festival of slavery. It is also recorded in history that on October 7, 1905, Veer Savarkar ignited the first holi of foreign clothes in Pune. Therefore, if a statue of Hindutva is sculpted by integrating glorious Indian values such as penance, sacrifice, and perseverance in the light of self-realization, that statue will be named Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Veer Savarkar is the revolutionary who was sentenced to 50 years in the Cellular Jail of Andaman by the British government for his revolutionary activities.
