Suspected terrorist killed in explosion in Amritsar on Tuesday morning

Chandigarh, May 27 (H.S.) : The recent bomb blast in Amritsar on Tuesday morning has been linked to a terrorist background. The deceased, whose body was severely mutilated, was identified as having connections to terrorism. The blast occurred around 10 a.m. outside Descent Avenue Colony on Majitha Road, causing severe injuries and igniting surrounding vegetation. Upon arrival, police and medical teams confirmed the individual was dead. In response to the explosion, various police teams, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and bomb disposal units, began investigations, questioning local residents and reviewing CCTV footage.

SSP Maninder Singh suggested that this incident likely stemmed from terrorist activities, citing previous instances where weapons had been stored for pickup by operatives. DIG Satinder Singh confirmed that the deceased was attempting to retrieve a weapons consignment linked to a terrorist organization when the blast occurred, strategically situated near a pole that likely marked the stash location. Evidence found on the individual indicated his affiliation with a terrorist group, although the specific organization has yet to be determined. In light of the explosion, security measures have been intensified in Descent Avenue and surrounding areas. Additional police personnel have been deployed to ensure safety.
