Delhi, 27 May (H.S.): The Government of India has restored benefits under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme for exports by Advance Authorization (AA) holders, Export-Oriented Units (EOUs), and Special Economic Zones (SEZs), effective from 1st June 2025. This decision aims to enhance India's export competitiveness in global markets. Previously, RoDTEP benefits were available until 5th February 2025, and their reinstatement is expected to provide exporters with a more equitable environment.
The RoDTEP scheme, operational since 1st January 2021, reimburses exporters for unrefunded embedded duties, taxes, and levies and aligns with WTO norms through a digital platform for transparency. By 31st March 2025, disbursements under RoDTEP exceeded Rs. 57,976.78 crore, highlighting its impact on merchandise exports. For FY 2025–26, Rs. 18,233 crore is allocated to cover 10,780 HS lines for Domestic Tariff Area exports and 10,795 HS lines for AA/EOU/SEZ exports, supporting diverse sectors.
