Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru born in Allahabad on November 14, 1889, played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle, receiving education at Cambridge University. He entered politics upon returning to India in 1912 and met Mahatma Gandhi in 1916. Nehru became General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee in September 1923 and led protests against the Simon Commission in 1928. After independence, he was the first Prime Minister of India. Nehru's health declined after a heart attack in January 1964, leading to his passing on May 27 that year.
