Palamu, May 27 (H.S.): In a confrontation with the banned Naxalite group CPI Maoist in Palamu district, Jharkhand, Naxalite commander Tulsi Bhuiyan was killed along with members of Nitesh Yadav's faction. The encounter began late Monday evening and gunfire persisted until morning, with police and security forces sealing off the area. Authorities recovered Bhuiyan's body and an SLR from the scene.
A bounty of 15 lakh rupees has reportedly been placed on Nitesh Yadav, who is believed to have been injured. Palamu SP Rishma Ramesh and police officials have been present since dawn. About six cadre, including Sanjay Godaram, who has a bounty of 10 lakh rupees, were with Yadav.
