New Delhi, May 27 (HS): India has initiated the development of the next-generation two-seater electric trainer aircraft, 'E-Hansa' (Electric Hansa), by the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) in Bengaluru. The estimated cost is around two crore rupees, approximately half the price of foreign trainers. This announcement was made by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of Science and Technology, during a high-level review meeting at Vigyan Bhawan.
Dr. Singh emphasized the pride in developing this aircraft indigenously. E-Hansa is part of the Hansa-3 (New Generation) trainer aircraft program, aimed as an affordable option for pilot training, contributing to India’s green aviation goals and promoting clean energy-based aircraft.
