New Delhi, May 27 (H.S): Special Judge Digvijay Singh of the Rouse Avenue Court has rejected the second bail application filed against Aam Aadmi Party leader Naresh Balyan in the MCOCA case. The court had reserved its decision on Naresh Balyan's second bail application on May 22. The court has ordered extending the judicial custody of all accused in this case until June 3.

After Naresh Balyan was granted bail on December 4, 2024, in a recovery case, the Delhi police arrested him in the MCOCA case. The Delhi police opposed his bail, stating that serious charges have been filed against Balyan and a supplementary charge sheet has already been filed against him. Therefore, Naresh Balyan should not be granted bail. Naresh Balyan's plea for bail stated that there is no further investigation remaining after the charge sheet has been filed, and thus, there is no reason to keep the accused in custody. Balyan's lawyer, M.S. Khan, stated that the necessary approval for filing the FIR was not obtained and the entire process of filing the FIR is illegal.

On Tuesday, the court ordered the extension of judicial custody for all accused in this case until June 3. The court took cognizance of the supplementary charge sheet filed against Naresh Balyan, as well as Sahil alias Poli, Vijai alias Kalu, and Jyoti Prakash alias Baba. The court has taken cognizance against all of them under MCOCA sections 3 and 4. The court had already taken cognizance of the charge sheet filed against Ritik Peter on February 24.
