New Delhi, May 26 (H.S.): The Supreme Court has dismissed an application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act for the report of the investigation committee appointed by the Supreme Court in connection with the cash related case involving Allahabad High Court Judge Justice Yashwant Verma. The RTI application also sought information regarding the communication that took place between the then Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, the President, and the Prime Minister. The investigation committee formed by the Supreme Court submitted its report to the Supreme Court on May 4.

The Supreme Court administration rejected the application, citing the confidentiality of the communication between the President and the Prime Minister as stated by the then Chief Justice. The report of the investigation committee formed by the Supreme Court was forwarded to the Prime Minister and the President by the then Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna.

The investigation committee constituted by the Supreme Court submitted its report on May 4. Following the discovery of cash at Justice Yashwant Verma's residence on March 14, the Supreme Court ordered the formation of a three-member investigation committee on March 22 to look into the matter. This investigation committee included Chief Justice Shil Nagoo of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, and Justice Anu Sivraman of the Karnataka High Court.
