Haridwar,26th May(HS): Former President Ram Nath Kovind visited Haridwar for two days with his family, discussing the concept of One Nation One Election. He asserted that this initiative could accelerate national development and potentially raise India's GDP by one to one and a half percent. Kovind attended the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri and received blessings from Acharya Swami Avadheshanand Giri Maharaj, the Juna Peeth head. He shared that he submitted a report on One Nation One Election, which the Government of India accepted. A bill has been drafted by Parliament and is currently under consideration by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).
Decisions made by the JPC will be acted upon as deemed appropriate. Kovind highlighted India’s recent advancement to the fourth-largest economy, surpassing Japan, with expectations to rise to third place in two years under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. He also acknowledged Operation Sindoor as a demonstration of the Indian armed forces' valor and a significant message against terrorism that will be remembered worldwide.
