New Delhi, May 26 (H.S.): A group of artists met the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on May 26, 2025, during the Artists in Residence programme at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This initiative, known as Kala Utsav, highlights India's traditional art forms, providing a platform for folk and tribal artists who have preserved these artistic traditions for generations. Artists from Madhya Pradesh's Gond art and Bihar's Madhubani art are participating in this programme from May 20 to 27, 2025. Notable artists include Shanti Devi and Ambika Devi from Madhubani, along with Gond artists Durgabai Vyam and Ram Singh Urveti. The President admired their work and applauded their vital contribution to India's cultural heritage.
