Guwahati, 26 May (HS): Congress party has appointed Gaurav Gogoi as the new president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee. According to the notification issued by the party, Zakir Hussain Sikdar, Roslina Tirkey and Pradeep Sarkar have been made working-presidents. Also, Bhupen Kumar Bora, who was the state president till now, has been appointed as the chairman of the Congress campaign committee.

In the notification issued by the party's national general secretary KC Venugopal, it was told that MLA Devbrata Saikia has been appointed as the chairman of the coordination committee, Pradyut Bordoloi of the manifesto committee and MP Rokibul Hussain of the publicity committee.

After being appointed as the new president, Gaurav Gogoi reacted on social media and thanked Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal and General Secretary Jitendra Singh. He praised the leadership and contribution of former state president Bhupen Bora and said that he is grateful for his guidance.

Gogoi wrote that he could not have reached this position without the guidance of his parents and the support of his family - especially his wife and children. He described it as a privilege to work with dedicated Congress leaders and workers and said that in the days to come, he would seek the blessings of the people of Assam.

He expressed confidence that together we can build a better future for Assam.--------------
