New Delhi, May 26 (H.S.): India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, is set to embark on a three-day visit to Washington DC from May 27 to May 29, 2025. This visit aims to engage with senior officials of the Donald Trump administration, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Misri's trip follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's earlier visit to the US in February 2025, during which the two nations introduced the US-India COMPACT (Catalyzing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology) aimed at enhancing cooperative efforts for the 21st Century.

The MEA's release highlighted that this engagement is part of reaffirming the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the United States. Modi and Trump had previously launched the US-India COMPACT to promote transformative progress across critical sectors.

The initiative signifies the strengthening of ties between the two countries, with a focus on fostering mutual benefits through a results-oriented agenda. A joint statement from the White House emphasized their commitment to achieving initial outcomes in the year to underscore the trust underpinning this partnership.

Through this forthcoming visit, Misri will continue discussions initiated in February aimed at solidifying this bilateral relationship and advancing collaboration in vital areas, reinforcing India's strategic positioning on the global stage in accordance with the long-term goals established with the US.
