New Delhi, May 26 (H.S.): The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has summoned a report from the Joint Commissioner of the Northern Range of Delhi Police for failing to file a status report related to the X post of Delhi's Law Minister Kapil Mishra in a case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the 2020 Assembly Elections. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Vaibhav Mishra has ordered the next hearing of the case to be held on July 7.

The court had instructed the DCP of Delhi Police to obtain information related to the posts made by Kapil Mishra on X (formerly Twitter) from X and submit a report. Despite such orders, Delhi Police did not file any report. The court noted that during today's hearing, no representative of the investigative agency was present in court. Subsequently, the court directed the Joint Commissioner of the Northern Range of Delhi Police to submit a report regarding the investigation.

The Delhi High Court had previously refused to stay the order of the magistrate court that had taken cognizance of the charges against Kapil Mishra. Earlier, on March 7, the sessions court of Rouse Avenue had dismissed the petition challenging the order of the magistrate court filed by Kapil Mishra.
