Jodhpur, May 26 (HS): The Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF), M.L. Garg, reported on the success of Operation Sindoor during a press conference in Jodhpur. The operation showcased the BSF's coordination with the Army and Air Force to counter threats from Pakistan. Female personnel were deployed continuously, demonstrating dedication and alertness at the border. Following the Pahalgam massacre, the BSF was ordered to maintain high preparedness levels, with the Director General visiting the Bikaner sector to assess the situation and personnel engagements. Strengthened intelligence networks and operational coordination were prioritized.
Operation Sindoor also faced continuous drone activities from Pakistan, particularly in Rajasthan's border districts, including Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar. The BSF effectively thwarted these incursions with support from the Army and Air Force. Throughout the operation, there was a remarkable synergy between the BSF, Army, Air Force, and Rajasthan Police, ensuring efficient information exchange within the operational area.
To foster a sense of security among residents, the BSF countered misleading narratives from Pakistani media with fact-based information through social media. Following the operation's success, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Indian Army, visited Jaisalmer, where BSF personnel, including Assistant Commandant P.K. Mishra, received commendation disks for their exemplary service.
Garg emphasized the BSF's role as the nation's first line of defense and highlighted the commitment and vigilance of the force in securing India's borders. He stated that the BSF accepts all challenges with unwavering dedication, reinforcing that no entity can breach India's borders. He also noted Union Home Minister Amit Shah's appreciation of the BSF's bravery and professionalism during a recent awards ceremony.
