Tamil Nadu, 9 February (H.S.): A 22-year-old woman who left her home in Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar after a dispute with her parents over her romantic relationship was handed back to her parents by the police.

The student, who is pursuing her MSc at Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Uttar Pradesh, had gone to her boyfriend's house in Thiruvottiyur, but was taken to the police station by his parents.

After conducting an inquiry and providing counselling to both families, the police handed the student over to her mother, advising them to resolve familial disputes amicably.
