Ranchi, 27 February (HS): Chief Minister Hemant Soren will launch the State Health Insurance Scheme for state employees and pensioners in the conference hall of the Assembly on Friday. The beneficiaries of this scheme and their dependents will be provided health insurance of Rs 5 lakh per year. Disabled dependents will get the benefit of this scheme for life.

The beneficiaries will be borne medical expenses up to an additional limit of Rs 5 lakh i.e. a total of Rs 10 lakh for the treatment of serious diseases. Apart from this, if the expenditure exceeds the insurance amount, it will be paid by the Corpus Fund. In special circumstances, air ambulance and air travel assistance will be provided in case of immediate referral of state employees and retired employees to a higher institution in an accident or in a dying condition.

Speaker Rabindranath Mahato, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Labor Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav and Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari will be present as special guests in the program organized in the Assembly premises.

After the launch of the scheme, from March 1, state employees, retired employees, current and former members of the Legislative Assembly, serving and retired officials willing to serve in All India Services, working and retired teachers in government universities, registered advocates, family pension recipients, various boards, corporations, institutions of the state government, retired regular employees working in large numbers and other beneficiaries and their dependents will get its benefits.
