New Delhi, 20 February (H.S.): A grand gathering of Urdu language literati, writers, poets, and enthusiasts from across the country and the world is set to take place in New Delhi.
The National Urdu Language Development Council (NCPUL) is organizing a three-day World Urdu Conference at the India International Center from 21st to 23rd February. The theme of the conference, Vision of Developed India, Mission of Urdu Language was revealed by NCPUL Director Dr. Shams Iqbal during a press conference at the IIC auditorium. Dr. Iqbal shared that the council has previously organized similar conferences but had to pause due to reasons like the pandemic.
Hence, after a gap of six years, this conference has been designed in a contemporary manner, keeping in mind the national needs and requirements along with Urdu literary issues. He added that the main focus of the conference would be on discussions about the role of Urdu in building a developed India by 2047, in line with the government's vision of 'Developed India @ 47'.
Dr. Iqbal stressed upon the importance of participation from all sections of society, including writers and creative individuals, in shaping the country's development. He also mentioned that there will be various panel discussions and paper presentations on topics related to Urdu education and its promotion. The conference is also a celebration of International Mother Language Day, marked on 21st February. The opening and closing ceremonies will be graced by renowned personalities from the literary world and other fields.
