Pinarayi Vijayan dubs BJP Leaders Loudmouths

Thrissur, 06 December(HS): With hardly three days to go for the first phase of the election to the local government bodies in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan turned his ire against BJP and termed the Hindutva party leaders as loudmouths and idiots.

“The BJP leaders in the Centre as well as in Kerala speak nonsense all the time. The Centre does not release the funds meant for Kerala to prevent the execution of all development works in the State,” said Vijayan while addressing the members of Thrissur Press Club on Saturday.

Thrissur is the only Lok Sabha constituency which elected a candidate fielded by the BJP in the 2024 election. This is the first time in the history of Kerala a BJP candidate was elected in the Lok Sabha poll. Vijayan made the allegations and accusations against the BJP on the backdrop of these facts.

But he continued to treat the Congress with kid gloves. “Congress represents the principles laid down by Mahatma Gandhi. Though there are some aberrations in the party’s Kerala unit, the Congress pursues the policy of secularism and communal harmony in rest of the country,” said Vijayan.

He said Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, the rapist is guarded and protected by the Congress leaders themselves. “If they are keen that the sexually perverted MLA should be arrested, these leaders should pass on his whereabouts to the police,” said Vijayan.

The chief minister also said that the Governor of Kerala is ignorant about the Supreme Court verdict on the rules to be followed while appointing vice chancellors of universities. “That is the reason why the Governor is dilly dallying with the Government’s decision to appoint vice chancellors to the universities in the state. I am well aware about the mandatory requirements of appointing a person as vice chancellor while the Governor is reading out from statements prepared by the BJP,” claimed Vijayan.
