Court to decide on Rahul's anticipatory bail on Monday

Kochi, 06 December (HS): The Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Judge on Saturday afternoon sought more details in the anticipatory bail plea submitted by rape accused Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil MLA in connection with the rape, assault and forced abortion case filed by a 23-year-old victim. But the Court did not issue any directive to the police not to arrest him. The Court will hear the plea in detail on Monday.

The sessions Judge order is in response to the anticipatory bail plea filed by Rahul Mamkoottathil in the second rape case against him. The High Court had issued a directive to the cops not to arrest the accused till the anticipatory bail plea in the first rape and assault case is disposed off on 15th December.

Though the Kerala High Court order in the morning had given him some happiness, the sessions court order in the afternoon has dampened his spirits and the sexually perverted MLA (as described by chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday) because the cops could arrest him anytime now.

The defense lawyer told the sessions Court that the second rape case was a fabricated one in the backdrop of the local self government bodies election scheduled for 9th and 11th December. Moreover, Rahul Mamkootathil does not remember which of the victim has filed the second complaint against him.
